About Erdevik
Vinarija Erdevik was founded in 1826 by Count Livije Odeskalki in the Srem village of Erdevik, on the western slopes of Fruška Gora near the Danube. Under socialist-era industrial production it made up to 15 million litres of wine a year; after privatisation it scaled back deliberately to around 150,000 litres of premium wine, made exclusively from its own vineyards on the Danube's right bank, growing Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah at around 100 metres elevation. MK Group owns the winery today, having added it to its wine business alongside its sugar, meat and oil divisions.
