Chaco makes strap sandals with a single continuous webbing strap threaded through the sole, designed by a river guide in Colorado in 1989 for wear in and around water. The construction allows the fit to be adjusted along the whole length of the strap, and the company has long run a resoling service rather than treating the sandals as disposable.
