About Kappa Ebisen
Kappa Ebisen is a shrimp snack launched in 1964, made by kneading fresh shrimp into wheat dough, and it became a hit across Japan. It followed Calbee's 1955 Kappa Arare crackers, which introduced the kappa name. In 1966 Calbee began its overseas exports by shipping Kappa Ebisen to Southeast Asia and Hawaii, then North America a year later. It is still sold in Hong Kong, Thailand and mainland China.
