About Unicum
Unicum is a Hungarian herbal liqueur made from more than 40 herbs and spices, partly extracted and partly distilled, and aged in oak casks in Budapest. Family legend dates the recipe to 1790. József Zwack opened his first distillery in 1840 and registered Unicum as a trademark on 22 May 1883. The distillery was nationalised in 1948, and the range now includes Unicum Plum, Unicum Barista, Unicum Riserva and Unicum Orange Bitter.
