About Risenta
Risenta began in 1940, when Uno Grindby started importing rice, canned goods, spices and bakery supplies into wartime Sweden. It became a household name in the 1970s with yellow bags of seeds, nuts and grains that moved from health shops into ordinary grocery stores. Midsona bought the trademark and branded stock and took over the brand on 1 June 2026, with the production equipment to follow that autumn; it expects about SEK 130 million a year in sales, almost all in Sweden.
