About IQOS
IQOS is PMI's heated-tobacco device brand, first introduced in Nagoya, Japan, in 2014, and now one of PMI's leading smoke-free brands alongside ZYN and VEEV. PMI previously shared US commercial rights to IQOS with Altria Group, but the companies agreed in 2022 to end that arrangement, and as of 30 April 2024 PMI holds the full rights to commercialize IQOS in the United States as well as internationally — there is no current US/international ownership split, unlike Marlboro, Parliament and L&M.
